The Queensland University Directors of Information Technology (QUDIT) has broadened the scope of collaboration to service management. The QUDIT directors recognised the need to collaborate on service management matters and supported holding a workshop late in 2017 on the topic with the majority of QUDIT member organisations participating.
The primary objective of the workshop was contributing to proficiencies and collaborate on service management. Participating universities completed a service management framework providing an overview on the current state of affairs at their university.
Due to the success of the workshop the group reached an agreement to establish a Service Management Community of Practice. The CoP meets quarterly. The purpose of the CoP is to share experiences among member institutions, capturing of opportunities and making recommendations to the QUDIT board regarding collaborative approaches to service management matters.
Goals set for 2018 includes achieving a community understanding and best practice recommendation on defining Service Catalogues items.
