The QUDIT Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) shares experience among the QUDIT member institutions, captures opportunities and makes recommendations to the board regarding collaborative approaches to regional network matters.
The TAC established informal information sessions last year to discuss various topics of interest or concern with a wider community. The format of such sessions are informal, are run via Zoom video conferencing and a chair is appointed for each session. Topics discussed last year included:
- Access Authorisation Compliance and Reporting
- Student Screen Sharing Technology
The TAC is continuing with the practice this year and had four discussion sessions since the beginning of the year on the following topics:
- Student Residential Wi-Fi
- Eduroam on Public Transport
- Wireless Analytics
- Service Offerings from AARNet
Leading from one of the discussion topics the group has started discussions on an initiative to deploy eduroam on public transport. Current thoughts are to investigate the option to run eduroam on Queensland Rail’s wireless infrastructure.
