The QUDIT Technical Advisory Committee held a workshop in May 2018 with AARNet and Zoom on Zoom Video Conferencing. Most of the Queensland Universities are Zoom users and have Zoom deployed at their universities in some means. Zoom is overall working well, provides a good user experience and is quick and easy to use. The workshop was held to discuss Zoom integration with other systems, deployment of Zoom Rooms and general matters.
QUDIT member organisations that partook in the workshop included The Australian Institute of Marine Science, Central Queensland University, Griffith University, James Cook University, Southern Cross University, Queensland University of Technology, The University of Queensland, University of the Sunshine Coast and University of Southern Queensland.
The workshop opened with an introductory session on Zoom functionality and features followed by a University round table discussion to reflect on current Zoom experiences, concerns and issues.
Zoom presented on the product roadmap on future developments and AARNet presented on hosting of the Zoom infrastructure, reports and updates.
AARNet and Zoom facilitated a discussion on Learning Management System integration, focusing on requirements for future integration. A deep dive session was held on Zoom Room integration.
Participants valued the workshop and recommended future Zoom webinars to discuss features and new functionality would be of assistance. A secure space for collaborative support and sharing of information has been generated for the group.
